What Is It All For?

Everything that a person strives for life, why do they do choose to follow it? The goals that a person decides on, why do they choose to pursue it? Is there something in the human soul that compels us to decide on what we plan to do? Or do we just choose to do things?
I've often been swamped with work. Who am I kidding? I am always swamped with work nowdays.`But unlike most people, I get it all done, on my own, even if I have to stay up late to do that. It's just something that I do. But often times I wonder, why do I do what I do? There is always an alternative, but I don't take it, and I never stray from the same path that I take everyday. But I often wonder why.
Is there something that's in every person's soul, distinct and natural, that causes us to choose what we choose? Is it free will, but already free will developing from this inclination in our soul? Does destiny really exist? And that no matter what we do, we will end up where we need to be, and with who we need to be?
I wish I knew those answers, but doesn't everyone? Especially the who. Love seems like one of those areas that just aren't understood without experience.
I wish I knew where things led, to some degree, and why they led there. But maybe that's what life is about, figuring out what your purpose is in life, and maybe when you get to that point, you realize that it's your destiny somewhere along the way. And when that happens, maybe then you figure out why you did what you did.
