3 days. Faith. Love. Hope. Leave your judgements at the door and come with an open heart. Bring us your heavy burdens and we shall lift them from your shoulders and carry them with you. Be sure to jump at the door when we welcome you and have a seat because this is your second home. We, as your second family, are always available to you.
Ah, I love it.
Being a leader, what an honor. Being able to direct the way that the retreatants would experience God in the discussions really helped me realize just how much there is that God wants me to do as his instrument. I hope I brought my family closer to God.
That witness talk. I want a separate post for it. All the positive feedback makes me sooo happy to have done it despite my misgivings.
Watching my family grow from a little shy quiet gathering of 8 to a true family that hugs and cries without any worries is truly a blessing.
I am an emotional wreck. Anything sad or touching can set me off. Seeing Kevin and Brian hugging in that Church on Saturday after the prayer was soooo touching. Ateh Stephanie and I just started bawling when we saw that. And seeing Brian walk up to Kevin and hug him again after the pounds came in, that was such a moving experience. My favorite hug, however, are two.
1. That Amat hug. Ashley, Kaysee, Lindsey, Brian, Kevin, Raymond, and I just huddled up and had an Amat hug. And I recall Brian saying how he treasured this moment. We are going to bring the AE love of SLYM to Bishop Amat. I won't lie, that school needs it. We may be a Catholic school, but it is far from the love of SLYM. I am so blessed to get to throw up at A 'Amat' when ever one of us went up. What a beautiful thing.
2. That group hug with some of the leaders. I remember Gerard and Kuya Andrew just pulling me into it with Sam Lam behind me and I remember just grabbing Casey to keep from falling and I ended up pulling him into the hug, too. What a love, what a love.
Allow me to end with this. I received an anonymous note in my mail bag. It read :
"Dear Maryanne,
I just wanted to let you know, you changed my life."
