A Drifted Boat

I got into my boat today

And drifted off to sea

I don't think that I went that far

and who's to judge but me?

But in your eyes i must have gone

A little ways far from shore

because i returned and you scolded me

to never run off anymore

i can not make that promise

which i know i can not obey

for tomorrow the sun will rise again

and so begins another day

another day, another venture

that's the way that life's to be

i hope you can not stiffle up my rapture

because that would be the end of me.
