...all the way in San Diego. We arrived two hours EARLY, so not Filiphino time, and were the first ones there. After 2 hours and 30 minutes later, the line weaved throughout the whole mall and it was full of Filiphinoes. Although my family was first in line, we were all packed together very tightly in order to stay together. Some people came from even farther than we had, like in Moreno Valley.
Why? Because my mother wanted to see "A Very Special Love" and that was the closest screening! So, we drove two hours just to watch a movie with John Lloyd Cruz in it.
After buying the tickets, my family squeezed through but I got stuck in the crowd. Why? Because the lola in front of me closed the opening and wouldn't let me pass. She thought that I was trying to cut. So I tried to find another way out but all these lolas and nanays wouldn't budge. So I had to keep yelling "Palabas po!" (let me out, please). When no one listened to me speak it, I yelled and all of Filiphino people moved. The non asians just stood there all confused :)
In the theater, it was like my house hahaha OH!!!! I thought my parents were the only ones who bought in bulk. Nope. Pinoys in general do. One family bought a large drink and then brought paper cups to share hahahah Yep.
And dang. It isn't just my parents that laugh loud during a movie. I can't remember how many times it felt like a megaphone in the theater with all of us laughing. Yeah, dang.
And when the movie was over, there was a flood of Filiphinoes coming out of theater 2 hahahaha And then there was already a line for the next showing. The line stretched from theater 2, down the stairs, and to the entrance. How's THAT for pinoy pride? hahaha
What can I say?Hilarious! But the plot could have been elaborated on more. But it's was worth the 2 hour drive
Sadly, we didn't get to stop over at the beach because it was incredibly hot and we could not find parking :(
But apparently, if there is one thing on this earth that can cause a gathering of hundreds of Filiphinoes from all over Southern California, it is John Lloyd Cruz. hahaha
