Thoughts on the Summer and the Future Year

Where does time go? It seems as if only a few weeks ago, I had gotten out of school. Yet now, it is only a few more weeks until I must return to school once more. This wasn't a typical summer, either. There was so much work to do for all of my weighted classes that I hardly know where the vacation began. It was probably sprinkled somewhere in between with the work. All that I can say for sure is that the summer flitted by me, much faster than usual. I don't even think that I had time to be bored because of all that I needed to get done. And for what? All of this in preparation for sophomore year.

And what a year it is going to be. In between two AP classes and three honors classes, I'm also an executive board member for one of the busiest clubs in the school :Barkada. Aside from that, I plan on joining NHS and CSF, both if possible. That means countless hours of studying and staying up late to finish all of my work. Although I'm time efficient, I've heard that AP European History will simply keep you up all night with all of its work. Apparently, AP Art History might be just as taxing. I've heard that the book is double the thickness of my honors biology book from freshman year. Also, honors english this year is boasting some of the most tedious works possible. Although I've read at least 4 and already posses 3, it won't be an easy ride. I highly doubt that honors algebra II will be as kind to me either. And no doubt honors chemistry is going to give me a bit more to handle in class and out as well.

Aside from academics, I also plan on spending more time with SLYM. I'll also be preparing for my Confirmation this year, so that will also require more work. A majority of my spiritual duties this year will most likely comprise of service hours. 15 for Confirmation and 15 for my Morality class this year if I am not mistaken. Also, I have heard that either NHS or CSF, one of the two, requires service hours. Both requires tutoring, but only one requires the hours.

This year is going to be hectic, but I wouldn't have it any other way. That makes things interesting. I think that I've learned to trust my abilities a bit more and realize that I don't have to study so much in order to succeed. I memorize things very quickly. However, a lot is riding on this year, and I do need to keep things up or else my junior year will be in jeopardy. I need to keep that scholarship. All in all, I really do look forward to this year. It begins in about 2 weeks and a few dayys.
